Sr. QA Engineer
Duties: Act as the significant QA engineer assigned to a small project team for assigned projects within PrismHR’s web and mobile based software product solutions, deployed within a Software-as-a-Service model. Collaborate within a cross-discipline project team setting of software developers, product managers, and manual and automation-focused SQA engineers to create and execute quality testing schedules and plans. Interface with other SQA projects teams and test automation staff to strengthen and supplement our internal testing infrastructure, via improvements to processes, procedures and technology. Employ a sound risk management approach to determine an optimum, well-structured and comprehensive test strategy for assigned projects. Deliver and track progress to testing schedules, within aggressive “time-to-market” driven project environments, sometimes across parallel projects. Detail and execute test cases, and track test results. Summarize testing status and areas of risk, and wherever possible propose and execute upon mitigation strategies. Interface with automation engineers to identify and prioritize areas for significant efficiency and confidence gains through test automation. Pitch in on automated test development efforts where possible. Analyze, track, and report on application issues and maintain documentation on project issues and defect metrics. Collaborate within SQA team and across product development on process improvement initiatives. Position is fixed location based in Hopkinton office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Multiple positions available.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field plus six (6) years of overall software quality assurance or product development experience, with exposure to the full product development cycle from requirements through post-release.
Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience testing multi-tiered, web-based or mobile software products
- Test planning experience including providing well documented test strategies, procedures and results
- Utilizing functional or load testing tools, including automation toolsets
- Testing database applications, including building and performing database queries.
- Mentoring and training more junior engineers on both technical and SQA process topics
- Driving and participating in software development / testing process improvement initiatives
Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Troubleshooting experience
